Number 1: Natural History of the Cincinnati Region

Our first contribution is an informative book directed at those interested in the natural environment of the nine county area centered on Cincinnati. It includes discussion of local bedrock geology, the role of glaciers in sculpting our landscape. local archaeology and native cultures, regional ecosystems and environments through time, native and immigrant species, and the place of agriculture, industrialization and development in sharing the world in which we live.

Number 2: Stratigraphic Renaissance in the Cincinnati Arch: Implications for Upper Ordovician Paleontology and Paleoecology

Our second contribution is directed at specialists and others interested in the stratigraphic interpretation for the type Cincinnatian Series, Upper Ordovician rocks of the Cincinnati Arch. Its discussion of the local bedrock geology and interpretation of ancient marine environments derives from the International Geological Correlation Program (IGCP-530, Ordovician Paleogeography and Paleoclimates) and associated field trips held at Cincinnati, Ohio, June 12-14, 2005.

Our third contribution is the collected abstracts for technical presentations given at the 9th North American Paleontological Convention held at the University of Cincinnati, June 21-26, 2009. It will be of interest to specialists in a wide range of paleontological topics and includes abstracts from plenary sessions on organic evolution dedicated to Charles Darwin on the 200th anniversary of his birth.
